Thank you to those who were coming to support our students tonight for the “And all that jazz” performance. Unfortunately we have had to cancel as two students are sick. We have rescheduled to Monday, 8 February at the same times (5pm and 7pm - 1hour 15mins duration) and tickets will still be valid for that date. Tickets will also be available on the door, £2.50 for students, £3.50 for adults.

Headteacher Drop-in Session
Date added: 29/01/2010
I am holding a drop-in session for parents to give us feedback on the work of the school; we would like to hear your views about what we do well and if you have suggestions about ways in which we can improve further. We are also interested to know how you would like to see the future of the school developing. The drop-in session will be on Thursday, 4th February from 3:20pm until 5:30pm. Each appointment is for 10 minutes maximum. Parents can either sign up by phoning reception, where a list will be kept, or turn up and sign up for the next available slot. The intention is to give feedback as above and is not intended to replace normal communication with form tutors, leaders of learning or other staff. It is hoped that we will have a positive response to this invitation and, if it is successful, future sessions will be arranged over the course of the rest of the year.

Whizz Kidz Schools consultation
Date added: 12/01/2010
Whizz-Kidz Kidz Board are 12 young disabled people from all regions of the UK.
The Board has written a schools consultation that has been sent out to the 28,000 schools across England by the Secretary of State for Children Schools and Families. The consultation asks young disabled people anonymously to answer questions about their school life; school trips, teaching assistants, PE and work experience.
As the response has not been as good as was expected, it is hoped that more responses can be obtained before the results are presented to Rt Hon Ed Balls MP in early 2010. The closing date for completion of the consultation is 15th January 2010. The consultation can be found at http://tinyurl.com/WhizzKidzSchools
EMA payments
Date added: 09/01/2010
Due to the recent school closures the date for handing in EMA bonus forms will be extended by a further week, after which time we will review the situation as necessary. Weekly payments of the EMA will be paid in accordance with the terms and conditions of the EMA student contract, and during school closure all absences will be automatically authorised. However students may be asked to provide evidence that they have completed all work set by tutors, via the school website, before payments will be authorised. Any further queries can be emailed to libby.cave@magdalen.northants.sch.uk
