For the month of February there will be a BOOK AMNESTY. This means you can return any school books with NO QUESTIONS ASKED!
Why not have a thorough spring clean at home and see if you can find any of our books and return them to the Library.
Thank you!

New Community Heritage Activity Centre
Date added: 26/01/2012
Archaeo-Schools joins MCS to create a new community heritage activity centre for Brackley.
Following the success of a recent heritage and archaeology volunteer project involving students at the school, permission has been granted for Archaeo-schools to develop a much-needed facility to celebrate the heritage of the school and Brackley town. A focus group representing five areas of the community will work with Archaeo-schools to ensure that we offer something for everybody. Activities will include community courses with a heritage and archaeological focus; outreach packages for schools, colleges and community groups, and enhancement activities to extend an existing school’s curriculum.
Within five years, this project aims to provide Brackley with a centre for heritage that can be used and enjoyed by all. Plans include securing funds to develop a permanent heritage display, an archive store and study facility and an exhibition space for local artists and much more. Magdalen College School has been at the heart of Brackley since 1548 and is the obvious location for this exciting new community venture. We believe that each person is a stakeholder in our local heritage and aim to ensure that we offer something for everyone.

Academy conversion approved by governors
Date added: 16/01/2012
Dear all
I am pleased to announce that the governors have reached the decision to apply for Magdalen College School to convert to academy status with effect from 1st September. We anticipate for accounting purposes that we will be able to bring about the changeover a month or two earlier. Thank you to all those who responded to the consultation. The questions and comments have been shared with the governors' working group and have been considered carefully during the decision-making process. We will keep you posted on progress over the next few months.
Yours sincerely
Ian Colling, Headteacher
