Bike Marking Scheme 6 March
Date added: 23/02/2010

A POLICE scheme to crack down on bicycle theft is coming to Brackley.
Members of the Brackley Safer Community Team will be on hand to security code people’s bikes. The coding costs £3 and includes a log book and registration on the website www.bikeregister.com  Police staff will mark the bikes with a subtle, individual code. The owner’s details are then registered on the website with that code. If the bike is stolen/lost and then found it can then be reunited with the correct owner. If the current owner of the bike wishes to sell it then the details registered with the website can be easily changed. The code marked on the bike cannot be removed making the security marking a good crime prevention device. You don’t need an appointment to have your bike marked, just turn up at the Town Hall on Saturday, 6 March between 1pm and 3pm.
