Women in Engineering Open Evenings at Mercedes, Brackley (June-July 2019)
To celebrate International Women In Engineering Day 2019, Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team will be hosting a series of Open Evenings for girls aged 13 to 17 that are interested in STEM-based careers. These are towards young women who are considering which GCSEs or A-levels to take at school. Mercedes can host twenty girls on each evening, along with a parent or chaperone. The event will take place at the factory in Brackley.
Our aim is to showcase career opportunities in Formula 1 and encourage young women to consider engineering as a possible option for the future. Our Open Evenings will take place on: 18th June, 24th June, 1st July and 3rd July.
The schedule for the evenings will be:
5.30pm Visitor Registration in the Silver Arrows Lounge
5.45pm Welcome in the SAL Theatre.
Talk by a female engineer from our Team.
Presentation by HR about the career opportunities in F1, the best career path to take and tips on how to stand out.
Opportunity for Q&A
6.30pm Factory Tour
7.30pm Return to the Silver Arrows Lounge
Light refreshments (soft drinks, tea/coffee) and an opportunity to mingle, ask questions, take photos with the show car etc.
8.00pm Event ends – depart with goodie bags
