Curriculum Threads

When students experience the curriculum, they build up knowledge. As this knowledge is processed and applied in new contexts, we develop understanding. We understand that our brains store this new information by making links to existing memories.

We use our Curriculum Threads to map connections across subjects, and work to make these explicit to students. Making these links also enables students to look at information and experiences from different viewpoints.

We have already mapped a number of ‘threads’ across our curriculum and will be developing the these and our reflections with students.

From September 2020 we will be working with students in Years 7 and 8 to explore the Historical Context links across their learning.

Our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural thread runs throughout the curriculum.
