Thank you for considering Magdalen Sixth Form for the next stage in your education. We offer an academically focused post-16 curriculum which includes a broad range of A-level subjects and other courses.
Choosing to study in our Sixth Form opens up a new world of learning. Students are encouraged to make careful choices about the design of their personal academic curriculum, selecting a range and mix of subjects that they will find interesting and valuable in their own right. We are dedicated to providing excellence and rigour in each of our subjects.
Every student's selection of 3 or 4 subjects at A-level is complemented by our Extended Project and Magdalen Scholarship programmes, and our Statistical Research Methods course. We value learning to research, reflect and analyse in our subject specialisms and beyond.
Sixth Form students also benefit from our personal development curriculum which ensures they are well-prepared to make positive contributions to their community and next place of study.

These are 5x GCSE grade 4s including Maths and an English GCSE for general entry to sixth form. In in addition we ask for: a minimum of grade 6 at GCSE in the subject to study Mathematics and languages: to study a Science including Psychology we ask for a minimum of 2 grade 6s in GCSE Sciences (Physics is 2x 6s in GCSE sciences and a grade 6 in Maths); access to study Further Maths is at the discretion of the Head of Faculty. We have not set access grades for other subjects, which means that you may study an A level without having studied it at GCSE, while recognising there may be challenges in doing so.
